Tellune vs Chat Wrapped: which job?

1. Choose the output you actually want

Here, “Chat Wrapped” means a recap-style category, not one product with a universal feature set. Choose that kind of recap when you want a compact or shareable view of a conversation. Choose Tellune when you want defined indicators, explicit limits, and a later comparison using compatible measurements.

Tellune serves a narrower job: read observable chat patterns, keep each one tied to a definition, and check compatible values again later. Neither choice should be treated as evidence of another person’s feelings.

2. A recap presents a view; Tellune keeps the definitions

The useful distinction is not “fun versus serious.” It is what you need to do with the output.

Tellune calculates message balance, who starts, reply pace, follow-ups, long waits, late-night share, rhythm, curiosity, and depth trend. Each measure has a narrow definition. There is no overall compatibility or relationship-health score.

The same discipline applies to sharing. Tellune lets the user select aggregate results for a share card; it does not auto-send or auto-post a report.

3. A second run only helps when the measures still match

Tellune’s Rematch does not compare every number merely because two reports exist. The indicator version must match. A measure must be available in both reports, and both values must use the same unit.

That means a later report can produce fewer comparable rows than the earlier one. It can also show a flat value or a direction that remains unclear for the selected goal.

The Rematch explainer walks through those compatibility checks. Its central boundary is simple: Tellune can report that a measured value changed; it cannot say the app or a user’s action caused the change.

4. Treat roast-style output as entertainment, not evidence

A roast-style output can be the right choice when your goal is entertainment. The safe boundary is to keep its verdict in that category.

A joke, label, or dramatic score does not become a measured finding because software produced it. If you want to know who started more sessions, use a defined session-start measure. If you want a funny take, choose it as a funny take.

5. Ask privacy questions before choosing either workflow

Do not infer privacy from the visual format. Check the specific product and import path you plan to use.

1. What exactly do you submit: a raw export, screenshots, selected text, or aggregate values?
2. Is processing local, remote, or split across stages?
3. Does a coaching or interpretation step send message content?
4. What is retained, for how long, and how can you delete it?
5. Can you inspect the material before it leaves the device?

For Tellune, WhatsApp exports are parsed on the phone for the indicators. Screenshot extraction is a separate temporary cloud path after confirmation. 6. Tellune fits a narrow job

Tellune fits someone who wants observable one-to-one chat measures, accepts that some results may be unavailable, and wants to compare compatible values later. It is a poor fit for someone seeking a verdict about another person or a purely entertaining score.
